Clinical trials are research-based studies.
WHAT ARE CLINICAL TRIALS?
Clinical trials are research-based studies used to determine safe and effective medical or psychotherapy products and practices. Specific protocols in these trials can establish several factors involving screening, diagnosis, treatment, prevention, epidemiology, quality of life, and genetics.
HOW CAN B.I.P. MEDICAL SERVICES HELP?
B.I.P. Medical Services offers mobile specimen collection for clinical trials that have participants in Huntsville, AL, and surrounding areas.
Specimen collection is one of the most important factors in a successful clinical trial. Likewise, mobile specimen collection not only makes the trial possible, but also saves trial sponsors the added cost of time and resources required to send personnel or participants to multiple sites for testing.
CLINICAL TRIAL SPECIMENS INCLUDE:
Blood Draw - Blood tests are often used in health care to determine physiological and biochemical states, such as disease, mineral content, pharmaceutical drug effectiveness, and organ function.
Urine Collection - A urinalysis checks for the composition of urine; used to determine the presence of proteins, salt, metabolic products, hormones, and other substances that are excreted in the body
Saliva Collection - Saliva is used to evaluate steroid hormones such as cortisol, genetic material like RNA, proteins such as enzymes and antibodies, and a variety of other substances.
Please note that each company selects their needed tests. The examiner is only requested to collect and prepare the specimen for analysis. The company or doctor will provide information to the lab regarding specific tests.
